The MIA Hub’s founders say the new community was created in response to a question: “How can we connect the entire InsurTech ecosystem so that it can take advantage of the capabilities of each member from a strategic and privileged location for business development in the Latin American region?”
The MIA Hub answers that question by becoming the place of reference for the LATAM InsurTech community by providing access to intellectual capital, investors and/or business partners, for all parties interested in doing business in the region and as a launch pad for international businesses, according to a statement from the organization.
MIA Hub lists the following as among its objectives:
- Collaboration: Nurturing the local InsurTech community to grow by collaborating among participants, sharing ideas and seeking opportunities.
- Insurance innovation: To be a place to find innovative business proposals, focused on improving the insurance value chain and on improving and expanding the scope of products, services and number of policyholders.
- Expand the ecosystem: Connect with other technological industries (fintech, proptech, agritech, healthtech, legaltech, etc.), the academic world, and international institutions with complementary objectives to that of the MIA Hub.

MIA Hub has among its founders members of prominent entities the Miami InsurTech community such as 123Seguros, BMS, Chubb, Grupo Marsh Mclennan, HCS Capital, Jooycar, Lula, Relm Insurance, Sura, Swiss Re, and The LATAM Insurtech Accelerator.
“This is a unique opportunity to promote and develop the InsurTech community at a regional level from Miami, bringing together all the actors as collaborators, and seeking the growth of the industry with opportunities for internationalization, content and talent,” comments Hilario Itriago, co-founder, MIA Hub. “We are very excited to be part of this initiative.”
“In recent years we have seen the emergence of an insurance market with a regional outlook from Miami, seeking to transform itself from being a traditional provider of risk capacity and operating center for multinationals, to a business center that also finds innovative solutions related to insurance,” says Juan Mazzini co-founder, MIA Hub. “The MIA Hub seeks to consolidate this transformation by positioning Miami as the epicenter of InsurTech in Latin America.”
