R&Q Appoints Claims Chief
R&Q Insurance Holdings Ltd., a specialty insurer headquartered in Bermuda, appointed Hillary Jarvis as chief claims officer for North America.
Jarvis was most recently managing director, claims—compliance and strategy at Markel, where she led a team of 60 employees, R&Q said in a press release. She was responsible for claim compliance, business intelligence, innovation and strategic planning functions.
Before then, she was general counselor and second vice president with Travelers. She started her career practicing law at Pillsbury Winthrop Show Pittman and was of counsel at Steptoe & Johnson, the company said.
Jarvis reports to Andrew Pinkes, who is global chief executive officer, legacy insurance.
Son Replaces Father at Renfroe
The son of the founders of Renfroe, an independent claims adjusting firm based in Birmingham, Alabama, has been promoted to chief executive officer.
Austin Renfroe replaces his father Gene Renfroe after working for the company the past 13 years, the company said in a press release. Gene Renfroe and his wife Jana founded the company in 1994.
Austin Renfroe has served as its information technology manager, general counsel, vice president, and interim president. He graduated from the University of Texas with degrees in computer engineering and mathematics. He received a juris doctor from Emory University and specialized in intellectual property law.
“After 13 years learning the ins and outs of this business and industry, I am honored to step into this role and continue to grow this incredible company,” Austin Renfroe said.
Arturo Appoints New CEO
Arturo, a Chicago-based insurtech, appointed Greg Oslan as chief executive officer.
Oslan has a record of leading startups, “from market to exit,” in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, capital management and government initiatives, Arturo said in a press release. He served as chairman or CEO of multiple companies including RiskSense, which was sold to Avanti; Fixmo, sold to Good Technologies; and Narus, sold to Boeing.
Oslan serves on the board of directors of the National Cyber Security Center, a nonprofit organization that fosters cyber innovation and awareness, according to his LinkedIn page.
Arturo also appointed Joe Brown as vice president of sales and service. Brown previously served as vice president of business development for EagleView and CoreLogic.
Arturo provides property data to insurers for applications that include claims and underwriting.
